Price vs Purpose
Price is always a consideration. However when
you purchase your camera, please select it to suit your requirements
and do not base your decision on price only.
If you require high definition video quality, or want to use
lenses that can be set to zoom in on an area, you may have to
purchase a better quality camera and video capture card or videao
encoder.
Shops and Warehouses will typically require a more expensive
equipement than home users (for whom small web cameras might
be sufficient, in areas such as your passage).

Night vision
Ensure that your camera or video encoder can
capture clear images in areas where it is required to capture
a video in dark places.
|

Durability
The choice of camera and/or video encoder
and housing is of immense importance where the equipement are
to be installed in severe environments, e.g. manufacturing areas
with dust, direct heat exposure, extreme temperature etc. Outside
equipement must be protected against weather conditions.

Style
Style should be considered where your camera
or video server is to be mounted in a stylish area.
It should blend in and not be immediately visible. In certain
areas you might not want it to be visible at all and use recessed
housings, or housings perceived as light fittings.
